A traditional Family breakfast at Crust Pizza Parlour is a delightful spread of various dishes. Here’s a simple recipe to create a delicious family breakfast at home:

Ingredients

For the Spread:

  • Bread: Fresh crusty bread  
  • Cheese:  feta cheese, gouda cheese or cream cheese
  • Olives: A mix of green and black olives
  • Tomatoes: Fresh, sliced (or cherry tomatoes)
  • Cucumbers: Fresh, sliced
  • Peppers: Sweet bell peppers, sliced
  • Eggs: 2-4 eggs (for menemen or boiled eggs)
  • Butter or Olive Oil: For cooking
  • Spices: Red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt
  • Albanian Pancakes: (Petulla): with cheese, nutella or jam.
  • Crepes: Salty or Sweet

Optional Additions:

  • Menemen: Scrambled eggs with tomatoes and peppers
  • Jams: Fig jam, apricot jam, or honey
  • Sucuk: Kosovo sausage, sliced and sautéed
  • Fresh herbs: Parsley or mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
  • Slice the bread and arrange it on a platter.
  • Slice the cheese and place it on the platter.
  • Arrange the olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers on the platter.
  1. Make Menemen (Optional):
  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced tomatoes and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
  • Crack in the eggs and gently scramble them together with the vegetables.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until eggs are just set.
  1. Cook Sucuk (Optional):
  • In the same or a separate skillet, cook sliced sucuk over medium heat until browned.
  1. Serve:
  • Arrange all components beautifully on a large platter.
  • Serve with a side of jam or honey and fresh herbs.
